The Ultimate Round

One of the greatest books I have read in recent days was "The Ultimate Round" or 18 Lessons from some of the World's Greatest Golfers.  In the book, written by Terry Glaspey, the writer speaks of 18 Holes for the Soul.

He speaks of finding pleasure was the key trait of Arnold Palmer

Walter Hagen speaks of confidence that is gained.
Tiger Woods speaks of a bigger vision in life Gary Player speaks of discipline.
Jack Nicklaus speaks of intensity. Sam Snead, balance.
Tom Watson, patience Mickey Wright, desire for improvement.
Ben Hogan, focus! Then the writer talks of Tom Kite and honor.
Greg Norman and grace under pressure. Fred Couples and relaxation.
Byron Nelson and self-control.  Annika Sorenstam and courage.
Bobby Jones and intelligence. Lee Trevino and a sense of humor.
Gene Sarazen and creativity.

Lastly, the writer speaks of Bernhard Langer and perseverance!

The thought came after going through these words of greatness with some of the world's greatest golfers - what good traits can be identified with each of us as believers in Christ?  As church members?  As people in the workplace? Take some time to express to others the positive ways they have influenced your life.

God bless you,

Pastor Larry
